Rahul seeks time to reply on sexual harassment statement

Delhi Police: Delhi’s Special CP met Rahul Gandhi today regarding his statement on sexual harassment of women in Srinagar during Bharat Jodo Yatra. Special CP (L&O) Sagar Preet Hooda, who came out after the meeting, said that we have talked to Rahul Gandhi. He said we need time.

According to Special CP (L&O) Sagar Preet Hooda, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said he needed some time and would give us the information we sought. Today we have given a notice which has been accepted by his office and if inquiries have to be made, we will.

According to Hooda, Rahul Gandhi said it was a long journey and he met many people and needed time to compile it. He has assured us that he will give information soon and we will start our action as soon as we get the information.

Congress furious over Delhi Police’s knock at Rahul Gandhi’s house

Delhi Police reached Rahul Gandhi’s residence on Sunday morning regarding his statement of sexual harassment. Congress leaders fumed after police reached Rahul Gandhi’s residence. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that without the orders of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the police could not have such audacity to unnecessarily enter the house of a national leader.

The Chief Minister of Rajasthan said that Rahul Gandhi said that he has received the notice and will reply to it but still the police went to his house. He said that Delhi Police’s visit to Rahul Gandhi’s residence reminds one of Indira Gandhi’s era. Today’s incident is not an ordinary episode. The people of the country are watching this and will not forgive you. They are fascist people.

Congress general secretary KC Venugopal said that from the day Rahul Gandhi raised questions on the link between PM Modi and Adani, the government started harassing him. Venugopal said that he would have to answer the questions raised by Rahul Gandhi. Instead of giving answers, they are trying to harass and intimidate Rahul Gandhi. Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda said under which rule the police is coming to Rahul Gandhi’s residence to collect the details of the Bharat Jodo Yatra that took place 45 days ago. Pawan Kheda said that they are not allowing the Parliament to function. This government is scared. Rahul Gandhi’s comment gets deleted every time. this is unacceptable. They tried to stop me and said you are not allowed inside. Is there a curfew? Is section 144 applicable? Let us inform that before this Congress workers who were protesting against Delhi Police outside Rahul Gandhi’s residence were taken into custody by the police.

What did Rahul Gandhi say in Srinagar, for which the notice was issued?

When the Bharat Jodo Yatra reached Srinagar, Rahul Gandhi addressed the media and told how sexual harassment of women still takes place in the country. Rahul Gandhi had said that when I was walking, many women were crying. Some of them got emotional seeing me. They told me that they have been raped, they have been molested.

Rahul Gandhi had said that some women said that their relatives/acquaintances molested them. When I asked him if I should call the police, he refused me and said that he did not want to inform the police as he would have to face more problems. Rahul Gandhi said that this is the reality of our country.
