ED raids Shantanu Banerjee’s premises

West Bengal: The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday raided multiple locations in Hooghly of former TMC leader Shantanu Banerjee, an accused in the West Bengal teacher recruitment scam. Meanwhile, Akash Ghosh, close to Shantanu, has been taken into custody by the ED.

Six-member team raided

A 6-member team of the Enforcement Directorate raided places like Bandel, Chinsurah, Balagarh on Saturday. The ED also had to break the locks of two flats in Bandel and Chinsurah. Not only here, when the ED team reached a guest house registered in the name of accused Shantanu, the lock of the main door of the guest house was already broken. However, the ED continued its investigation process.

Shantanu gave money to Akash

During the investigation, Akash Ghosh, the owner of a resort in Balagarh, was taken into custody by the ED for questioning in the case. It is being told that Shantanu Banerjee had given money to buy that property of Akash Ghosh.

Akash is a contract employee in the college

It is also being told that Akash is a temporary employee in Vijay Krishna College. In this college, he has been the former general secretary of the union. If sources are to be believed, Akash got a job in this college only on the advice of Shantanu. At present, ED is trying to get to the bottom of the matter through Akash.
