Turkey Syria Earthquake: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has offered help to Turkey which is suffering from severe earthquake. PM Modi said that at this time we all have our eyes on the devastating earthquake in Turkey. There are reports of many tragic deaths and extensive damage. The sympathies of 140 crore people of India are with the earthquake victims. We are ready to provide all possible help to the earthquake victims.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was addressing people at the India Energy Week 2023 event in Bengaluru, Karnataka on Monday. During this, PM Modi offered help to Turkey. Addressing the people, Modi said, ‘We are all watching the devastating earthquake in Turkey. There are reports of death and loss of many people. There is also a possibility of damage in the countries around Turkey. There is sympathy of 140 crores. The people of India are with all the earthquake affected people.”
More than 550 people died
Anadolu Agency cited disaster management officials as saying that Turkey and Syria were devastated after the deadly earthquake struck 23 kilometers (14.2 miles) east of Noordagi in Turkey’s Gaziantep province. According to media reports, so far more than 550 people have died due to the earthquake in both the countries. It is being said that a large number of buildings have also been damaged. There is a possibility of people getting buried in the debris.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also tweeted and expressed grief over the loss of lives in the tragic earthquake that jolted both Turkey and Syria. The US National Security Advisor also assured Turkey of assistance.
He tweeted, “The United States is deeply concerned by today’s devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria. I have been in contact with the Turkish authorities to convey that we stand ready to provide any and all assistance necessary.
