According to a statement issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Murmu said that Germany is India’s largest trading partner in Europe and also among the top investors in India. He said that Germany is also India’s second largest development cooperation partner and has played an important role in India’s development journey.

PM Modi had met during the day

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at Hyderabad House in Delhi. After this meeting which lasted for about an hour, Prime Minister Modi and Olaf Scholz jointly addressed the press. During this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a big statement regarding the Russia-Ukraine war. He said that India has always insisted on resolving this dispute through dialogue and diplomacy.

German Chancellor is on a two-day visit to India

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrived in Delhi on Saturday on a two-day visit to India. He was received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Rashtrapati Bhavan here. After this, the two leaders emphasized on deepening bilateral relations in different areas including clean energy, trade and new technology. In this regard, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted that Chancellor Scholz’s visit will provide an opportunity to further deepen the multi-faceted Indo-German strategic partnership.
