New Delhi: In the three-match ODI series played between India and New Zealand, Team India made a clean sweep on Tuesday. In the third match played in Indore, Team India defeated the Kiwi team by 90 runs to become the No. 1 ODI team. The win saw brilliant batting from Rohit Sharma-Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya along with clever bowling from Shardul Thakur. Shardul defeated the spirits of the New Zealand team by taking 3 wickets within 2 overs. Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets along with Shardul. Yuzvendra Chahal took 2, Umran Malik and Hardik Pandya took one wicket each. Team India captain Rohit Sharma is proud after winning consecutive series. He made a big statement after the match.
This is why Chahal and Umran were given a chance
Rohit said in the match presentation – We have done the right thing in most of the last six matches we have played. This is important in a 50-over game. Without Siraj and Shami, we wanted to give chances to the guys on the bench. Wanted to include Chahal and Umran in the team and see how they perform under pressure.

people call shardul a magician
He further said- I don’t think any score is safe here. Shardul has been doing this for some time. Those in the squad fondly call him ‘The Magician’. Just needs to get more games under his belt. Wrist spinners get better with playing time.
Praise for Shubman Gill
Rohit also praised Shubman Gill. He said- It is good to come into the team as a young player and have a great attitude. I have been batting well, so it was about going for the extra milestone. The pitch was good today. To be honest, we don’t talk much about rankings. We mainly discuss about doing the right things on the field. Australia are a great team and things are not going to be easy for us, but I think we are ready for the series.
