PM Modi Morbi Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Morbi later this afternoon. Before coming to Morbi, PM Modi had called a high-level meeting in Gandhinagar on Monday evening. In the meeting, PM Modi had directed the state government to provide all possible help to the victims. It was also decided in the meeting that on November 2, there would be a state mourning for the Morbi accident. During this, the national flag will be flown at half-mast on government buildings.

Search and rescue operation continues at the site of the accident

On the other hand, the search and rescue operation of the missing people is still going on at the site of the accident in Morbi. NDRF and Indian Navy teams along with local divers are searching for the missing people. Rajkot range IG Ashok Kumar said that a team of 50 people is engaged in the investigation of the bridge accident.

Let us inform that 141 people have died in the Morbi Bridge accident. Most of them are young people. The accident happened at 6.30 pm on Sunday when the cable suspension bridge collapsed and fell into the Machhu river. This bridge was about 140 years old. According to the information, this bridge was closed for renovation for the last seven months, which was opened on the Gujarat New Year. A 30-second video of the accident has also surfaced.

What is the action till now regarding the accident?

Taking action after the accident, the police have arrested 9 people, including the manager of the Orewa company, which maintains the bridge, two ticket clerks, the repairing contractor. Emergency wards have been set up at Morbi and Rajkot hospitals for the treatment of the injured.
