AIIMS Delhi server down for third day, NIA joins probe

Vinay Singh, New Delhi: The server of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) remained down for the third day. After this the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has joined its investigation. Representatives of India Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN), Delhi Police, Intelligence Bureau, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) are already probing the incident.

all work has to be done manually

Internet services will remain suspended at AIIMS Delhi following the recommendations of the probe agencies. AIIMS on Thursday issued a new set of SOPs, which states that the admission, discharge and transfer of patients in the hospital will be done manually till the e-hospital is closed. Latest SOPs to be followed in manual mode till the e-Hospital facility is down have been issued. The hospital said that this work should be done by hand.

Server fault started from Wednesday

It further states that death or birth certificates are to be made manually on the form as directed by the Working Committee. The SOP also states that only essential samples are to be sent and that too along with the filled form. Only urgent inquiries are to be sent along with the form as directed by the Working Committee. Earlier on Wednesday, AIIMS had reported a fault in its server. Server is down since 7 am today and officials are doing OPD and sample collection manually.
